I've been trying and trying to list an item for an auction. My husband has tried too. Neither one of us can see what we're doing wrong. The following message regarding Bidpay is preventing me from listing this auction:
"As of January 1, 2008, BidPay.com will no longer be providing online payment services. As such, we recommend you remove BidPay as an accepted payment method within your listing to avoid buyer confusion
Please contact BidPay should you have any questions regarding the announcement."
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? Why is this message keep coming up when we didn't offer BidPay as an option for payment? Your help will be greating appreciated. Thanks
Sorry this will be a long description, but needed you to know what led up to the last message I received!!!
Have a buyer megaimrankhan from United Kingdom with 6 feedback, who won an auction for a transformer toy, item #350272755021. Auction ended on 11-14, sent invoice same day.
(Buyer messages me 11-15:) I'll pay for the item on Wed. 18th, since today is Sunday & I had a few debt problems. Is that ok
(I messaged back ll-15) That is not a problem
(Buyer messages me 11-15:) I'd also like to know if you have a Rodimus Energon Series (Deluxe) & also if you had the Silver color of this toy I'd like that instead, although this is fine
(Buyer messages 11-17:) Unfortunately I cannot make payment for your item, please tell me what I should do
(I messaged back 11-17:) How much longer would it take for you to make payment: Otherwise I will have to turn it over to eBay to get my listing fees refunded & you would get a strike for non-payment. Please let me know
(Buyer messages me 11-17:) Well if I cannot pay by tomorrow you can go ahead & do that by the way I am really sorry if I cause you hastle
So he didn't pay & I opened UPI. Received this message today:
I told you I wanted the Silver & Red Version this ain't it why don't you just send me a message to cancel transaction that's what (other seller) did now your hastling me & you will get me kicked off eBay.
Sounds as if he has won auctions before & not paid for them!
Is it true that by opening an UPI, he can get kicked off eBay? Should I respond to this or just let the UPI take its course? It sounds like this could get ugly before it's finished, so I don't know if I should respond to him or not.
I was using Seller Sourcebook, I use it because I post so many pictures and it is cheaper in the long run. But anyway, I am tired of my auctions only going for a low opening bid and I don't want to start one out for $11 either (what I figured I paid for the lot). So I decided to use a reserve for the first time, set at what I "used" to get for my lots when things were going good. I understand it costs $2.00 and I would rather pay that than loose $10 or more dollars or take a loss on the lot. At first I typed in having the bidding starting at $11 but then decided to do the reserve and changed the opening bid to 99 cents in order to save a bit and engage bidders. When I clicked the button to launch the auction and view the fees, it said the listing fee was .55 and the reserve fee was $2.00. I can't figure out why it was .55. I did not use any other features and Seller Source Book adds on no fees. I wrote to them thinking their form did not reset after I changed it but they said it was ebay's pricing policy. Also, Should I put my reserve price in my description so people don't get turned off when trying to bid it up?
For a while I was using BIN to get a certain price and I still do for some items but I think people prefer auctions. Most of the time when I have a BIN listing and it doesn't sell I relist it as an auction and Bang! It goes.
Listing a few items (or maybe not) to end the Sunday after Thanksgiving. What are thoughts about bids?
Do you think they might be low, with the Sunday afterward acting as an extended holiday? Not affect bidding, because the Sunday afterward is a full 3 days after the actual date? Or maybe go high with end-of-year shopping starting?
Thanks for your thoughtful and responsive answers!
i am trying to list an item on ebay and i cant get threw the first step which is credit card info. i am using a current bank card and have entered the right info.?
I cannot list. Please help. When i go to sell a similar the problem i have, it won't let me change a category. says category no longer available. Its spongebob and i know it is available. I decided to list a spongebob item in dora category after trying for two hours........ it won't let me remove or change picture. it seems i cannot do anything
Used to be, when I submitted a transaction to the Resolution Center for a non-paying buyer, I could immediately add a message about the payment deadline and the total due. Now, I can't see any way to do that. Has eBay removed that feature? Or does it become available only after the buyer posts a response?
I had been trying to update my multiple listing by adding the handling time and return policy in bulk unsuccesfully for a long time. Do anybody know the ebay phone number i can call or help me to find the right link exmplaning how to do so. Thank you so much in advance!
I was wondering, I listed an item at a reserved price and it is now too late to change my reserved price. ( I wanted to lower the reserved price)If my highest bidder bids the new price I will accept can I still sell it to them? and am I able to contact that bidder about the item and say I would like to sell it to them for their highest bidding price?
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with listing items that end during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. With so many people traveling, is it worth having listings that end during this time?
I have listed quite a few items as of late. I am getting a lot of people bidding who have NO info - no feedback, no auctions, nothing even though one of them have been an ebay member since 2007. Isn't that sort of odd? Should I (or can I) block such bidders? There is no guarantee that the 2nd chance person will take the bid in the event the winner doesn't pay. One of them won a bid this afternoon and while she has 1 positive feedback score - when I go to look at it in detail it says that the person decided after the auction that she didn't want the item? Why the heck did the seller give her positive feedback???
