You don't.  You can't alter the listing once it has received bids.

Besides, think about it for a minute.  The BIN guy wants to buy your item at a price lower than he believes it will sell for at auction.

Why would you help him take money from you?  Let the auction run its course.

P.S.  His offer to BIN is common, but is also against eBay policy.

The best you can do is thank that person for their interest and suggest they place a max bid and hope to win...

I'd post it to the listing, which you can see 'Post this question' down by where you'll click to send your reply..

Happy New Year and good luck with your sales.

It's a violation of ebay policy for a buyer to even ask. Just tell them to bid there best bid on the item and let it go from there. You never know what it will sell for.

I had a fishing reel i sold a few years back that I had no idea was a rare collectible and started the bids at $9.99, and was expecting $20 for the sale. It wound up selling for over $400.

Also, if you take down the auction listing and sell it as a buy it now, you will have to pay the fvf's for the auction as well as the BIN.

... I originally had a buy it now price that ended once bidding started...

You can't add the Buy It Now back.
It disappeared once you received your first bid, which is how it is designed.

That would be a policy violation according to eBay rules.

You can either message the person back and explain you

will allow the auction to run it's course, or you can just

ignore the request.

Just don't allow people to force you into policy violations on

eBay.
