can a seller revise the ending date on a item that is on auction after a bid is made?

I put a bid on a item that was due to end in 3 days and the seller went in and revised the ending date after the bid was made and made me the winner. Can this be done?

Yes, the seller can end their listing selling to the highest bidder. That's acceptable, if they're happy with the price.

Bids are binding for the duration of the listing, no matter when they were placed.

That is not what happened exactly but the end result is the same.

The seller ended the auction early, if the seller does that without cancelling all bids first, then the high bidder at that time is the winner of the auction.

Contact the seller and see if this was their intent, I suspect the seller was cancelling the auction for some other reason and did not realize they needed to cancel your bid first.

Wish my fingers would pay closer attention to what I spell correctly.

There is no need to cancel the bids first, separately. When a seller starts the process of ending an auction early, they have to choose between (1) selling to the current high bidder vs (2) canceling all the bids and ending with no sale.  So unless this seller was extremely inattentive, he did intend to sell the item.

and made me the winner.

So, you won the item at a price that was perhaps less than your maximum bid, and you will get the item sooner than expected.

That IS a good deal!
