You can not.

A bid is a binding contract.

Pay your seller.

Resell it, or give it away, after it arrives.

best time to cancel is before the listing ends.

if that is the case...contact the seller with your excuse, now.

No, it is not best to chancel a bid before end of auction.

What is BEST is to only bid when you are sure you want the item. And if you DO bid, honor the bid. Which is what you will have to do if your seller does not agree to cancel the sale.

Keep in mind that you have disrupted the seller's auction and cost him/her time, if not money.

Just because you think you've been scammed doesn't mean it's true. Chances are, you're wrong.

You can contact the seller and ask him to cancel the transaction. Some sellers will and some sellers won't. Ask nicely. If the seller does cancel the transaction and sends a Cancel Transaction form to you, agree with it so he can get his Final Value Fees back.

Then from now on, be careful what you bid on. If you are not sure you want it, put the item in your Watch List and you can decide later if you want to buy it.

When buyers bid and don't  go through with the deal causes the seller a lot of extra work and time, which most of them do not have. Please, be careful in the future.
