why did my Buy it Now price disappear when bidding started?
Dec 5, 2012 07:46 PM

I had an item listed for Buy it now for $50 or bidding to start at 29.99. I think I remember it saying the first bidder has to take the buy it now option?? Anyway, a potential customer wants to know if I have a Buy it Now so he can buy it. Can I sell to him even though bidding has started? How in the future do I get the two options to stay up the whole week?

In most auction categories, the BIN disappears after the first bid.

The following auction categories will have Longer Lasting BIN  with a price threshold of 50%.

1. Parts & Accessories (eBay Motors)

2. Tickets

3. Clothing, Shoes & Accessories

4. Cell Phones & PDAs

If there is a Reserve,   the BIN will disappear when the Reserve is met.

No, the first bidder just bids. And then the Buy It Now option goes away.

Your current asker cannot Buy It Now, since that is gone.

No, it didn't say that. What would be the point of listing it as an auction if the first "bidder" had to use the BIN?

BIN goes away after the first bid in all but four categories. That's how it's designed to work. That's the feature you paid for.
