It means that the seller wants a bit more than what your current bid is.

Well it means you are the highest bidder right now, but there is a Reserve price that hasnt been met and if this isnt Met then you wont win even if you are the highest bidder, Example:

 

If your highest Bid is $50

and the Reserve is $100, then when the sale ends you still  lose cause the auction ended and no one Got to $100 or whatever the reserve is. if this isnt met then the seller dont have to sell it to you.now if the auction takes off and Someone Gets to $100 then you all will see a message "Reserve price has Been Met", then whoever has the highest bid wins it.
