What happens if I am outbid on an auction and the high bidder retracts their bid?  As next high bidder am I obligated to purchase the item even though I was notified that I was outbid?

What happens if I am outbid on an auction and the high bidder retracts their bid?  As next high bidder am I obligated to purchase the item even though I was notified that I was outbid?

Yes, you area obligated; the outbid notice even warns you about that.

Yes. Ebay even warns you that even though you are outbid, you could become high bidder again if the current high bidder retracts or has their bid canceled.

 

That is why you should never bid on more than one identical item at a time unless you want to pay for more than one.

Of course you are. That's why eBay's warns you over and over that your bid is live until the end of auction.  


Just because you think you've been scammed doesn't mean it's true. Chances are, you're wrong.
