I made payment arrangements before bidding on an item, BUT they opened an unpaid item case on me anyway? Are they allowed to do this?

I made payment arrangements before bidding on an item, BUT they opened an unpaid item case on me anyway? Are they allowed to do this?

I simply asked if they would contact me if the item did not sell, as I was interested in buying it on pay day! Loved the item!  They emailed me and told me to go ahead and bid, that they would wait for payment. I emailed back and told them I would make payment this Friday, payday, and thanked them repeatedly for working with me! I sign on tonight and find an unpaid item case is opened against me! Can they do this? She was well aware of the date payment would be made in ADVANCE! I have been diligent with payment and when a problem has arisen I have contacted sellers and let them know what was going on! I have not left negative feedback yet.. Even though I have had a few small problems. I always contact the seller first! This seems so wrong! Can anyone help? Do I just pay and take this?

If it has been 4 days since you won the item, it is very likely that the seller has an "unpaid item assistant" turned on and forgot to turn it off. In any case, you have 4 days from the time the UPI was filed to pay for it before it can be closed against you. If it was opened today you will have until Saturday to pay for it. As long as you pay, there are no repurcussions against your account at all.

Personally, I would just send the seller a note reminding them of their promise to wait till payday, and then forget about it. Just pay them as you promised and everything will be fine.

Oh, I should have added...you will still be able to leave appropriate feedback after you pay. If you get an incorrect response to your note, the decision on what to leave as FB and dsr's is totally up to you. Whatever you feel is fair.

If you promised to pay by (Friday) tomarrow, then you are fine, just pay tomarrow and the UPI case will close automatically.  Seller did not do anything wrong, it actually gives you 2 days longer then you promised Seller to pay.

I have done the same thing, as there have been many buyers who promised to pay on a certain date, but never did, so we still let the automatic UPI start just so we are covered for the buyers who don't pay when promised.

Seller does not have to close UPI in 4 days. That is just the shortest time a seller can close it in. You might ask if he is going to give you an other day, if you need it.
