I have been selling on ebay for a couple of months.  This month's invoice is almost $90.  Would opening a store save me on my monthly fees from ebay?

If you are still subject to limits on listings opening a store will not lift those limits.

It depends. Since you have taken the time to read all about having an ebay store, you probably, have already figured out, your own math and have seen what a store will cost you, per month, aside from any fees.

I'm guessing you have at least 100 items to sell, per month and that the $15.95 fee will be no problem.

You may have also read that stores don't automatically receive the 50 free from insertion fees each month, etc, etc. However, the FVFs are less, so it seems. That would have been readible material, as well..

Probably not. It looks like you have sold just over 30 items in the last 31 days. A store won't usually save you money until you are consistently selling (not just listing) at least 50 items a month.

You should take a look at your invoice details, and it will show you exactly what you have been charged for. That will let you figure out how you can save money on fees.

  • You get 50 auction-format listings for free each month (for sellers who don't have a store). You should try to use them wisely; for items with higher starting prices.
  • listing upgrades always cost extra, and they are not usually cost effective
  • using a second category means you have to pay all the listing fees for that category even if the first category qualified for free; and it doesn't increase the items visibility in keyword searches at all

You seem to be spending a lot of money on insertion fees for auctions with a very low sell-through rate. If you get a Store subscription, you won't get the 50 free auctions each month.

If you sign up for a Store, you can pay $16 per month and then pay only 20 cents per fixed-price listing, leaving those items up for a full month instead of re-re-listing them in auctions.

However, that begs the question of whether there is any strategy that can be profitable with low price low-sell-through items.
