I understand that ebay does not run by itself and that there is overhead that needs to be considerd.

If i choose not to list auctions because they cost me money regardless if i sell the item or not. wouldnt it benifit ebay to let me list for free, considering that you make money on everything that i sell. If im not willing to sell because it costs me to list everything then ebay isnt making money. Ive made close to 50 sales so far and ebay makes money on everyone. My sales have been going up I just dont want to post anything unless its going to be free.

I appologize for the way i think, but i do believe i would sell more if i were able to post my auctions for free rather than having to pay .25-.50cents on every auction after the first 50 of every new month.

Thank you for listening please let me know if i have anyother options. I sure would like to place some more auctions up i just dont think it benifits me to do so if im going to loose money everytime i do.

Aren't you already adjusting your pricing to accommodate eBay's fees?

eBay offers 50 free auction-style listings per month.

Have you been unaware of that?

This is the answer center, not eBay, likely no one employed by eBay will ever see anything you send here. Read the first sentence at the top of the answer center page.

If you want to make comments about how ebay should operate, suggest you use the the "Tell Us What You Think" tab at the bottom of every ebay page, allegedly an ebay employee reads those.

Wish my fingers would pay closer attention to what I spell correctly.

Remember that the next time that you shop for something - someone more than likely paid a fee to offer you that item.

If you don't want to pay listing fees ----

Limit your listings to no more than 50 per month ----

Sometimes eBay offers "Free Listing" specials;  Be sure to read ALL the details of the specials.  Take advantage of the specials if you qualify and agree to the terms.

Perhaps your buyers think they would buy more if they were allowed to buy all their items from you for free...

eBay has millions and millions of sellers who list millions and millions of items all day every day. Most sellers realize that it's better to sell items for a few pennies less than it is to not sell anything at all. You can't sell if you don't list. Do as every other seller does and embed your costs of doing business in the selling price.

Yes, Understand that adding cost into the items is an answer. But what if you post your items on average 4 or and 5 times before you sell it. Then an item that really only has a value of 20 dollars costs 25.00 ebay makes tons of money. You would think the sellers that do sell consistantly would get some type of price break when i sell an item for 100 ebay get $7.00-$9.00 plus the cost to post.

If you dont ask you never know if you can get some type of price break right?

its like going to buy a car and hoping that the sales guy will be honest enough to drop the price down enough to where everyones happy. If you dont ask he will make a killing off you just becuase you didnt ask.

Obviously i know i sent the question to the wrong place. But since everyone else has such an opinion on what i should do i thought i should respond back.

Thanks for your help. If you feel like you want to just give your money away just ask and i will send you my address so that you can send some my way.
