I thought that once the auction ended and I paid, the seller could not just resell the item to someone else for more $$$. It took him 2 days after I paid/end of auction to even let me know that he was not going to send me the book, this was after I emailed him asking when it was going to be mailed. He refunded me and said that me being disappointed about this was my own "personal problem" and that ending the auction early was not his "priority". Is this allowed on eBay, I have never had a bad experience like this before.

Actually, it is the seller's own personal problem, because you now can leave him feedback and rate his stars to express your opinion of the transaction.

Seriously he said that to you? Wow. Well I choose to skip the feedback on bad transactions however in this case? I think I would make an exception.

Also if he sends you a Cancellation Request make sure you DENY it.

Along with bad feedback and bad stars, you can try and report him as a Non-Performing Seller, though there is some debate as to the effectiveness of that.  It can't hurt if you feel like typing.

The seller breached your contract and you can report him by clicking on the Customer Support link and type in:

Seller doesn't want to sell

Know these 4 things:
1) Buyer Protection - 45 days to file a claim
2) Auctions are binding contracts
3) Click on Customer Support to find all answers
4) Problems are resolved in the Resolution Center

Leave appropriate NEG feedback, 1's & 2's for DSR'S and report them for being a non-performing seller.

If they send you a request to cancel, REFUSE it.  They will NOT get their fees back..............

Nobody can FORCE the seller to ship the item, but you can sure make him aware of what is and is not acceptable behavior on EBAY.

The seller now has -1 for feedback...............Trust me.  That will hurt him more than you know.  Which they deserve.

NOT a good way to start off selling on EBAY.  It may be his first and last sale..........
