Buyer buying for client in Virgin Islands. Scam?
Feb 20, 2013 12:31 PM

I have a possible buyer for an item that will need to be freighted to Florida and then shipped to the Virgin Islands. I have been corresponding with this buyer over Ebay.

Just recently he told me he was not the actual buyer, but that he was buying for a client...

Has anyone experienced this kind of sell or transaction?

Yes... agents like this exist.  I've dealt with a couple of them, and both were honest and trustworthy.

Where you need to protect yourself... upon payment, the agent's address in Florida MUST be provided during the checkout process.  This address will be in both eBay's & PayPal's detail/order transactions.

Ship only when PayPal says it's safe.  Ship with BOTH online viewable tracking and Signature Confirmation (all of your current items require SC).

Once the package reaches FL, you'll be protected against an Item Not Received dispute, even though the agent forwards it on to VI.
