I'm confused.  My funds are so slow to be released to me...  It really doesn't seem to matter to eBay if you put in the tracking number or not...  Still, ---slow, slow, slow to get your money.

Starting May 1—get up to 2,500 FREE listings* every month with an eBay Stores subscription

You pay a final value fee only when you sell! Plus, the final value fees for Stores have been streamlined to just 5 competitive category-based rates as low as 4%—and never more than 9%—regardless of how you sell.

Yes.

Almost

Tracking is actualy a higher level of service because the bar code is scanned at multiple stages of the delivery and sortation process.

Where as a Delivery Confirmation number is only scanned when the item is accepted by the carrier and when it is delivered.

However for eBay purposes you can consider them as the same.

They both fulfil eBay/paypals requirements.

Katz is right about the DC and tracking. BTW if you use ebay sjipping it will give you free tracking/DC, and it is cheaper than going to the post office to wait in line and you can ship from your mailbox.

If you are a fairly new seller you still have limits on your account, and ebay holds the funds until the items get delivered, then releases them to you. These limits and the holds will disappear as soon as ebay is comfortable that you are doing a good job and are obeying the rules.

eBay and even the USPS use the terms "Tracking" and Delivery Confirmation interchangeably. If you enter the Delivery Confirmation number in your listing record, your funds will be released sooner. The number will be entered automatically if you print your labels through eBay.
