Non arrival of item...new 45 day period from Ebay?
Dec 11, 2012 03:17 PM

I bought LED bulbs from Hong Kong dealer and paid Paypal on 5th November 2012. Bulbs not arrived by 10th December. Contacted seller who apologised and has today emailed to say has resent item and it should arrive between 8 and 25 business days. So far I have used up 35 of the 45 days Ebay allow for a complaint. Question...do I get another 45 days from now to await delivery of resent items as Ebay suggest that buyers should help resolve things.  If not must I open up a complaint case in case the seller is conning me? I cannot find an answer anywhere on Ebay rules.

Absolutely NOT, your 45 days is from the day you paid. period.

DO file a case for Item Not Received before that time is up. You can close it if the item arrives. You need to protect yourself.

There is no such thing as a new 45 day period regardless of circumstances, just one more good reason not to buy anything expensive from China.

File your case before the 45 days are up or forget about it, those are your two choices.

Wish my fingers would pay closer attention to what I spell correctly.

You only get one shot with buyer protection. If 45 days goes by and you haven't filed a dispute for an item not received you will have no recourse through eBay/PayPal.

You get only the original 45 day eBay Buyer Protection.

That is why if you have a problem with an overseas seller, ask for a refund.

Do not let them send a replacement.

And even if they say they have sent a replacement.. file a "Not as Described " for the first item before your one and only 45 day deadline goes by.
