Is there a way to find out someone's ebay handle if I know their name?

I have reason to believe that one of my employees is taking merchandise from my business and selling it on ebay.  I don't know the person's ebay ID, but obviously, I know their name.  is there a way to get this info so I can check the seller's history?

 

Obviously, I would prefer not to ask the person directly.

I have reason to believe that one of my employees is taking merchandise from my business and selling it on ebay.  I don't know the person's ebay ID, but obviously, I know their name.  is there a way to get this info so I can check the seller's history?

No, there isn't. You'd have to look for stuff that you think he might be selling. Remember, you can sort your search results by "Distance: Nearest first." Or bring the law into it and force eBay itself to tell you.

No, but if you have enough evidence to convince a judge, the judge can issue an order.

 

Something you could do in the meantime, is search on the merchandise and limit your search area as restricted as possible to the suspect's location.  See what you get and go from there.

There is no search for that. But you can search for items you think may be listed then sort by nearest first. It won't tell you that it is him selling it, but it might give you an idea. 

 

I had a similar situation at work. A rare item was listed so I was tempted to buy it now and have it mailed to me at work, but I didn't. I do get a printout of every listing I think is suspiciously acquired. I keep them in a file, not sure really what yet to do with them.

I'd say, let that employee go.....If you are certain that you've been robbed, contact your local police dept and make your claim...

 

If you have interest in investigating first, to properly provide the local police, do so...Place few key words, regarding what you think has been stolen, in your ebay search. Check Craigslist, too because that's a fast way to sell quick....

The e-mail search  won't give you the ID, it will just verify whether it's used by an eBay member. You get a notice that says, "The email address xx@xx is used by a valid eBay member. However, we have not found a recent transaction between you and this member. For privacy purposes, eBay doesn't reveal User IDs to members who are not involved in recent transactions with each other."
