Used the Ebay shipping label for the first time today.  Dropped it off at the Post Office Drop Box which had a pick up time of 11:35am.  There is still no information coming up on the Post Office website.  It's not even showing as being accepted.

 

How long does it usually take for delivery confirmation to show up in the computers when using Ebay shipping labels?  Does the Post Office know to scan the delivery confirmation bar code on the Ebay labels?

OOoooo your NOT suppose to drop it into the box but bring it into the post office

USPS is not required to scan the barcode until it is delivered.

Delivery Confirmation is not tracking.  

 

Often, the only scan will be when the parcel is delivered.

Understand that even if the item is scanned at ANY location on it's way to the buyer -- that information WILL NOT SHOW until the next day.

 

Because USPS doesn't UPLOAD their scan information until the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT -- for everything scanned that day.

 

So you may see something TOMORROW, or the next day.

 

But DO NOT EVER expect to see scan information in "real time".  Because it doesn't UPLOAD in "real time".

Of course you can drop it in a box. USPS says you can. Don't get freaked out that somebody here has told you that you can't.

The PO doesn't scan DC upon receiving the package. And even if they scanned yours, label updates are done late in the evening. DC is not instant gratification.

Why are you checking, anyway? It's best not to be one of those sellers that fixates on DC info.

And, no, you don't have to bring it into the PO. Dropping it into a blue collection box or a package receptacle is just fine. You did nothing wrong.

I go to post office / UPS  almost every day to hand deliver my printed off postage (FROM E BAY OR PAY PAL) / packages . watch them scan it.They give me a print out. 2 to 4 hours later it shows up as accepted and processed.  If i choose not to wait and set at end of counter. . it may or may not get scaned. which reflects what shows up later.

 

I also live in Butte, MT . . only a 20 minute turn around time,  for my peace of mind.

 

I am able to do it. just my experience.

Receiving POs aren't required to scan packages.

Not all packages are scanned start to end.

DC is not tracking.
