Seller can stop (buyer's) paypal payment if there is a PO box number in the address.

What gives?? If they are using the USPS, my Post Office requires a box number. We do not have rual delivery via the USPS. The street address is insuficent.

Have you contacted the seller? The seller is the only one who can take care of this. If the seller does not know how, tell him to contact us here at the answer center.

Wish my fingers would pay closer attention to what I spell correctly.

some sellers are mistakenly under the impression that it costs more to send to a p.o. and it is more time -consuming ie printing out customlike forms explain to your seller that it is the safest way to send mail

However, if the seller is using UPS or FedEx or similar, they will not deliver to a box number.

Also, some sellers have the mistaken idea that shipping to a PO Box (with USPS shipping)  invalidates Seller Protection.

If you give us an Item Number, we can see what shipping method was chosen by the seller.

Meanwhile, keep looking for similar items.  There are VERY few "unique" items on eBay!

Sellers can block payments from buyers with a P.O. Box. I have never understood why they would choose to do that. Anyway, message the seller and let them know that you don't have a street address and ask them to unblocked your payment.

Sellers can block bidders with a PO address in their site preferences. They usually do so if they use UPS or FedEx instead of USPS

I, also, have a PO box, and have encountered this in the past. If you do not here from your seller, when putting in the address, you can do as I have done in the past:

                              100 anywhere drive BOX 100

                               Anytown, USA

Since both my street address and my PO box are verified, this has worked in the past for those clueless sellers that think there is a risk to send to PO boxes( They are SAFER than street address!)

OH- forgot to add, I talked to my PO about this and they told me that as long as the "box 100" is on there, it will go in my PO box, because there is no street delivery where I live.

Thanks for the information.

I added a new address to paypal which seems to take care of this.

I was able to use a number in the paypal second address line but could not use PO BX or PO or Box just the # sign and a number.

The seller put no PO box numbers in the last field of shipping instructions right after no APO/FPO or PO.

I missed it.

My fault.

How can a seller use USPS and not take a Post Office Box Number in the address?

Because there are a lot of very CLUELESS sellers out there who are like Lemmings and get it from another site, so they follow along without even thinking! This is a very OLD rule, which was put in effect by the people who do rebates to stop any kind of fraud with people getting more than one by using P.O. Boxes. In this modern world, P.O. boxes are used by people who do not want or do not have home delivery. Maybe they live in a rural area (as I do) or maybe they live in an UNSAFE area, and cannot have their packages left in a mailbox or someone will steal them. Regardless, I don't even know why Ebay who is supposed to be a progressive company would even allow sellers to block someone with a P.O. box. These sellers are missing out on a HECK of a lot of customers, though- more buyers for us who do not have the stupid restrictions.

( I am off the soap box now... Happy Turkey day everyone in the U.S.!)
