If I am not mistaken, you will have to change your address, both in Paypal and with ebay PRIOR to bidding. I've had a few buyers with address changes and it won't change to address the seller is directed to ship to after the listing is ended.

There's no need to do anything with your PayPal addresses. You can't add an address that isn't in your country of registration in PayPal, anyway.

Yes, you can have items sent to any address you want, as long as it's in a country that the seller had on the listing as a country they are willing to sell and ship to.

You change the address on the ebay Checkout page (the one you go to when you click on Pay Now after you have purchased something).

  • Your default shipping address will be shown on the ebay Checkout page at first.
  • To change the address: click on the Change link next to the default shipping address.
  • You can choose from any address you have saved in ebay or PayPal, or you can enter a new one (as long as it's in a country that the seller will sell & ship to).
  • Once you have entered or chosen a new address, the shipping cost may change to reflect the new shipping address. You may have to click on "Request Total" to ask the seller to update the shipping cost (especially if its a different country).

That's almost right -- the buyer can change the shipping address at any time before they pay for the listing. See my post above for instructions.

The buyer does not have to change their shipping address before they bid, and they don't have to change the shipping address in PayPal at all.

After the buyer has paid, then the shipping address can't be changed, by either buyer or seller.

You are mistaken. As already stated, addresses can be added/selected at checkout. They do not need to be added to either PayPal or eBay (and certainly not both) before bidding. Also note that international addresses cannot be added in PayPal. A buyer can't change the address after paying. In that case, the seller must refund so the buyer can repay with his new address.

Hi Amir,

As I stated above, you do not need to add addresses until you pay (though you CAN do so if you wish), but if you want to use a US address for shipping, you may be blocked by sellers who don't ship internationally if your Primary Shipping Address is in another country. So to make things go as smoothly as possible, go to your Account tab on your My eBay page and change your Primary Shipping Address to the US address you want to use for the shipment(s) before you bid. That way, you will not be blocked if the seller only ships within the US.

no, the buyer can change the address WHILE paying--during checkout, they don't have to change it before bidding, of course they cannot change the address AFTER they pay, as it's too late at that point.
