I sold a ring and I forgot to state how long you have until you have to pay. Now the person that bought it says she will pay 9 days after the auction ends can she do this?

you can file a UPI after day 4 and wait another 4 days before you can close it, that's a total of 8 days....., but you have it sold if you just wait til day 9----up to you

The seller can file the Unpaid Item dispute after 4 days from end of listing, then close it out 4 days later.

You have a ring listed that you have already sold( unless you have 2 of the exact same ring). Did you close out the first transaction by eith filing the unpaid item, or canceling the transaction before you relisted?

You also can not say payment is expected in 24 hours or a case will be filed and the item relisted. Buyers have 4 days before you can open a case, and 4 days after that before you can close it and relist. So this statement is meaningless.

Never relist an item until the unpaid item process is complete. One listing I looked at said payment was due in 24 hours or you would file a claim and relist. As pointed out, that takes at least 8 days, not 24 hours.

they're two different rings - they look the same from the front but the sides are different.   Look at the pictures.

Did you buyer ask you if they could pay in 9 days or just announce they would?  If they asked, I would accommodate them - if they just announced it to you then I would inform them that is too long to wait and ebay's policy is to pay within 8 days or receive a strike.

That is the same ring, the scuff marks are exactly the same, everything about the ring is exactly the same. The turquoise ring.

Yes, I didn't see the turquoise ring - I was looking at the diamond one that looks alike.

@ dustina -

Your auction for the turquoise ring just ended yesterday and you've already relisted.  You can't do that.  Your buyer has 8 days to pay and you can't file the unpaid item claim for 3 days yet.  You need to remove the current listing because if that one ends with a winner (which it will because you have bids), then you will have two winners for one item and will surely receive a negative from one of them - which will severely hurt your feedback and your selling career on ebay.

go to your ebay selling page and on the right of the item under more actions click on end listing.  Be sure to cancel all the bids first or it will sell to the highest bidder.  You will have to pay a fee to ebay for doing that but it is better then getting hit with a negative.   then you need to wait until the 4th day from the first auction and if your buyer hasn't yet paid, you can file the UPI and close it in 4 more days if they never pay.  Then you can offer it to the next highest bidder with a second chance offer, if the price is what you want.
