Maybe to a seller?

 

I will assume here, the seller has not answered your question yet and eBay sent a notice that you are "awaiting answer?"

Where are you seeing that?  Are you the seller and the sold item is yours or did you win/buy an item?  I've never seen that before so need more info.  Use the reply link at the top.

It means that your buyer has asked you a question and you have not answered it.  Look in your Messages from your My eBay page.

 

"Awaiting Answer" will appear any time when there is communication between you and your buyer and the buyer was the last one to send a message.  So you will also see it when the buyer replies to your answer with such things as "ok" or "thanks".
