I want to use my ebay account & PayPal, to trade a few pool cues for one of close to equal price of item listed.

Starting May 1—get up to 2,500 FREE listings* every month with an eBay Stores subscription

eBay has reduced the upfront cost to sell for Store sellers! With eBay’s new everyday rate plans, you get from up to 150 to 2,500 FREE listings* per month—no insertion fees, auction-style or fixed price—with an eBay Stores subscription. You pay a final value fee only when you sell! Plus, the final value fees for Stores have been streamlined to just 5 competitive category-based rates as low as 4%—and never more than 9%—regardless of how you sell.

NO.

eBay is not a trading venue.

Y'see, eBay would have no way to take 10% of your pool cue.  However, if they were able to, the cue would be too short for you, or you might get splinters from what was left.

That's what ebay auctions are all about. Seller lists an item, someone bids and buys up to the value it is worth to them. Other than that, you cannot barter item for item. There are swap sites online that do that.

Good one, pi_r....

redrowdy: You've been registered since 10/03 so I'm surprized you never knew that ebay is for buying and selling only, not trading...(Unless I'm missing something here).

Interesting idea tho.

I think it would be tough with the people who don't even handle their own affairs properly, here on ebay, such as non payers, sellers who stall naive buyers and keep their money, etc, etc, etc...and more etc.

You could sell your stick and buy 2 others...

Maybe sell it locally and not have to pay the FVFs and Paypal Charge and commish.
