I am looking at purchasing some equipment in another state.  I would like to have someone look at the product and ship it to me if it works and in the stated condition.

That is not really what a trading assistant does. TA's are sellers that sell for others not buyers/shoppers.

But it would be between you and the TA if they are agreeable to it.

You need to understand that YOU would have no buyer protections on eBay or with PayPal....as you are not/would not be the buyer.

Is the item listed on Ebay or somewhere else?  If it is not listed on Ebay you have no buyer protection at all.

The reason I am asking is because some the sellers are not offering shipping.  Is there a service that would pick the product up and ship it to me?

Depending on what the item is....you can arrange shipping be it freight or UPS, etc etc.

I sell some thing and the buyer either arranges shipping or it is local pick up.

Most of the time the seller will accodate dropping it off at for you at the shipper or allowing them to come in for the pick up.

You need to discuss it with the seller.

It is fairly easy otherwise.

If an item is listed as local pickup only, then you must contact the seller first if you're not planning to actually pick it up locally.

You should not bid / buy if you can't honor the terms of the listing.

Clear it with the seller before you bid.
