Can I get back my buyer protection?

Can I get back my buyer protection?
Jan 4, 2013 08:42 PM

Okay, I lost the ability to open cases in the resolution center in August... I had a few sellers take my money, but wouldn't ship my item... I'd message the sellers and give them a few days (5-7) to reply. I'd message them though eBay and regular email, I was being ignored... I'd even call them! But they'd either hang up on me or lie to me, saying they'd refund me or reship, but never did... So yeah, I opened cases... And I'd leave positive feedback after I was refunded or recieved my shipment, which I'm being told was the wrong thing to do...

Now I'm having problems with sellers taking my money, but not shipping the item... I'm sick of not being able to defend myself! And I don't like leaving negitive feedback, it makes both the seller and myself look bad...

And please don't be rude with your answers! No- I was not abusing the resolution center, I seriously wasn't getting what I bought! They'd provide tracking numbers, but they'd NEVER update! Fake numbers or what?

I believe that once eBay revokes your Buyer Protection that it is permanent.

I don't know for sure however so you may want to call them-good luck.

There is a point where eBay (side note: eBay is a computer, mostly) decides that you've filed too many cases, and shuts you down.

First thing I'd do is see if there is a pattern - are you buying from zero feedback sellers, from overseas, or something unusual?   Buying dubious items (the truly weird category?) Try to figure out if there is a reason the non-delivery issue keeps happening to you.

Then go to customer support, upper right, click it, then click on 'contact eBay'.  Give eBay support a call and see if you can appeal this.  Good luck - you might have to call several times to get someone who comprehends your issue and can actually fix it.

Upper right corner on this page, click 'customer support'. Type your question into the input box, and click the 'search' button. This will answer 99% of all questions posted on this board.

Ok, time out, i did some research.

Items shipped from Hong Kong to the USA take 3-4 weeks.

Perhaps you're being too quick to file cases on items shipped from overseas?    I see a negative on an item bought on Dec 15 - thats less than 3 weeks as of this writing.    Too soon for an overseas transaction.    Stuff coming in from another country takes time, and has to clear customs.  Perhaps you're being too quick to file the disputes?

Anyway, call Ebay and ask.

Yeah, I would bet on the buying from rookie angle here. Experienced sellers will not often cause you problems with delivering items.

Also, the practice of leaving negative feedback before there is even a chance for delivery is not a smart thing to do. If several buyers continually report you as a problem buyer, ebay sees that as a nuisance, and may sanction your account. They use computers to track these things, and if you fall in the lowest 1 percentile about complaints, "where there is smoke, there is fire" comes into play.

Be a little more careful about complaining about things that are out of a sellers control.

Call ebay CS for a better reason. They can see the actual cause. We can only guess.

I just checked your feedback left for others. Wow, you sure have a lot of problems, huh?

You should be aware that making statements like "willing to change feedback if you refund" is considered feedback hostage by ebay, and will be automatically removed by ebay if the seller complains, AND they will give your account a violation strike?

Dear buyer,

I have suffered from the same situation as you.I was explained by many members herein that I live in a country with poor postal communication system and that sellers incur financial harm because of me.When I said that NO PERSON MUST BE PUNISHED FOR THE ACT HE OR SHE IS NOT GUILTY FOR, I was told that this is not "right" but "previlige", and I lost the previlige. But under contract law when two sides become parties of a contract, they assume rights and obligations. No previliges may be granted to anyone because EVERYONE IS EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW.....Neither the seller nor the buyer should be responsible for the postal communication services..We are not criminal investigation officers in order to deal with postal or customs systems......Something is wrong in the Ebay system!
