I sold a new, unused watch. The buyer is saying that it is not new and wants a refund. Simply not true. I'm willing to refund the money but how can I be sure that I get the exact item returned to me ??

You do not refund UNTIL you get the item back and check it over.

Do not refund until AFTER you receive the returned watch, and inspect it.

 

eBay says:

"If the buyer returns a different item, or the same item but in worse condition, the seller should appeal to eBay immediately. We'll review the case, and if we find in the seller's favor we'll repay the seller any refund sent to the buyer, and record the incident on the buyer's record. If a pattern emerges, we'll take action against the buyer for fraud. We also track the number of times a seller reports that this happens, to monitor for potential abuse. "

I also listed this watch with a no return policy.

I am willing to refund/return the item, though. I don't need/want any problems with ebay. I suspect the buyer is attempting something fraudulant.

If the buyer files a "Not As Described" case, your No Return policy will be overridden by eBay.

Yes, That is what I thought. I don't have a problem with refunding the $$, I just want to ensure that I get the exact item returned.

Advise the buyer that you will refund in full after you receive it back and verify the hidden seller's mark making sure it is the same watch you sent.

 

Sometimes that will scare a fraudulent buyer to keep it.

This is crazy !!!

I sent an authentic, brand new watch. The buyer says its not new........... 

I said, return the watch, I'll inspect it, if its the same watch, in the same condition as both the picture and the one sent, I'll refund the money immediately. The buyer is demanding the refund first and is threatning to report me to ebay ?????? 

I even sent the Buyer Protection Policy to her and told her I am going to bide by those policies...

I don't need these troubles.................

There's no way to report you for not refunding before they return the item. You must NOT refund without having the item back in your hands, in the same condition it was when you mailed it.

 

They can, however, file a Signifigantly Not As Described (SNAD) dispute, claiming the watch does not match the listing. They will win, but, eBay will require THEM to return the watch with online proof of delivery at their expense before you will be required to refund their original payment in full.
