I have a question for sellers...
I recently auctioned a vintage cookie jar. It was packaged the right way. I wrapped it in newspaper and plenty of bubble wrap. When the buyer received it, the base was apparently broken. Ok...this does happen..but, then I get an email that states that she just happened to have a spare base to the exact cookie jar and would be willing to accept a partial refund for the item and partial refund of the shipping my wheels started spinning. Is this some type of scam...

From a Newbie to all the Old Timers, I need help. I listed 20 different pieces of jewelery in 20 different auctions. I did use Reserve prices in most, a few revealed, or a minimum price on a few. I had a few bids, 4-5 on some, less on others and 0 on others. Nothing sold. I need advise as I have a lot of jewelery pieces to sell - all new and I don't want to sell for less than paid. Any ideas? HELP!! And thanks for all the help and wisdom!

have a person that wants to sell me a car and said I can use ebays vehical protection program, he says the money stays in your account untill the car and paperwork is in my possesion than you release the funds once I accept the car, is this ascam or do you offer this service. thanks weary buyer

I have always gotten good feedback, yet why do so many people not bother leaving any? I have around 11 previous sold items from the past couple months with no feedback. & asking is kind of tacky but I think feedback helps with sales. Just wondering if there is a common percentage of buyers that don;t bother leaving any feedback regardless if they like the item or not.

Why doesn't FedEx show up as a shipping service I can offer to the customer when listing an item for sale?

I have an item that is up for auction. It ends in 17 hrs., and a bidder frantically wants to cancel his bid because he did not read the description, admits he did not read the description, and I don't know what to do.

I have a buyer that has bid on my item 3 times in a row and my starting price has not went up. Just confused as to why they did this, is this allowed ?

I accidently listed items with "gallery plus". I went back & edited the listings. On my account, it is still showing the charges for the gallery plus on the listings. Is it possible to have the charge removed? Thanks. Janice

Okay, this is the 3rd and hopefully last time I need help with this buyer. He lives in the UK, but said that he did have a US mailing address and paypal account. I just received an instant payment notice from paypal that I received a payment from a gentleman in Florida--I looked and it's for the item, but of course the shipping instructions are for this man's name and address, not the buyer in the UK. I bought an Item at Walmart on Clearance. I bought it with the intention to post on Ebay, cuz it was such a Great price. I didn't research the item till I got home, and unfortunately found that the item had recently sold for .99 and 10.99 for shipping. So I decided to STILL post the item as I could profit a few dollars yet even if I sold the item at those prices. I started the item at 9.99 and Free Shipping. The item ended up selling for 23.50! I recently listed an item. The item title and description describe it as silver. The problem is I do not have the item in silver, I actually have it in gold. The picture is in gold, but both the title and description describe it as silver. Before I noticed and could change it, someone bought and paid. I refunded the money in full and sent an explanation, and requested a transaction cancellation, which the buyer refused. He is now insisting that I complete the transaction as he purchased...

A person bid on a hatchet that I was selling. He bought it and a couple of days later I shipped it to the address that's on paypal. He contacted me a few days later and asked me where the package was so I tracted it and found it at his postoffice so I told him that. A few days later it was shipped back to me cause the addreess he had listed was vacant. So I wrote and told him that and I sent him a new invoice for shipping since he wanted me to ship it out again. I bid on an item, saw another buyer inch it up til it went right over my max bid. Now that is not unusal, but got curious and looked at the other bidders activity. The bidder has run up 2 other active jewelry auctions in the same manner with the same seller. This bidder has retracted 138 bids in the last 6 months and the seller has a negative feedback which looked like they were accused of shilling.
I saw an earlier post where someone was asking about this subject and they were answered...

I am aware that a buyer can cancel their bid for no reason; can a pending best offer be canceled by the buyer if they change their mind before seller responds to request? thanks, and thanks for info received regarding counter offer.

So I bought a shirt, it came in the mail today and as i was buttoning it on, i noticed a 2 inch tear right next to the buttons.
The seller told me he didn't notice the tear and basically said to return it if I'm not happy with it.
I am of course not happy with it, but I'm wondering if I am going to be stuck with the s&h fees? or is he the one responsible for the fees in this case?
