recently i installed the new Internet Explorer 8 and IE 8 has web slices so you can add the auction to your favorites bar on top and keep track of it that way,instead of going to the site over and over. i tried adding it but it ended up being am accelerator for IE 8 instead. I sent a tech support help on this for for 3 days or so that link was down,and now a .exe comes up asking me to install something to optimize IE 8. It started to install then a message comes up saying "IE 8 is not supported" how can it not be supported? in any case,anyone here know a fix it for this? thanks.

Just refuse to support it.

In other words, eBay coding and IE8 are not 100% compatible. If you want to surf eBay with relative ease, use only the browsers that eBay supports.

perhaps you don't understand what i'm saying. web slices for IE 8 are acceptable for this version. ebay is a "supported" site for this. "hmmm. i want to do this" sounds like something i "want" to support not "don't want" to support. If IE 8 or Internet Explorer has the option for it,and if i can't download it,then obviously something is wrong. go to http://ie8.ebay.com as it is a site on ebay,and see for your self.

Look at the upper right corner of your screen when you view that page.

yes again i knew this. if you noticed in my original thread,i said i downloaded the file and when it began,it said "IE 8 is not Supported". if slices is for IE 8,how can it not be supported? obviously i need something to fix that but i don't know what it'd be.

i never saw that. well anyway i guess it;s not really a big thing. you need to try IE 8 though. pretty cool.

eBay just didn't enable the Web Slices feature yet.
That installation file on ie8.ebay.com is just a standard IE8 installation file. If you already installed IE8 from the MS site, you needn't install it again.

Yes this is quite lame, it shouldn't prompt you to install it again since you're already on IE8... very confusing. I guess eBay isn't ready for Web Slice at all.

yes it is an awesome version of IE. The thing on what you said is interesting because according to the IE 8 website,it shows web slices enabled for ebay on their clips section. This of course was when IE 8 was still in Beta Testing. and under http://www.ieaddons.com/en/ click Web Slices and "Watch Ebay Items" is a button on there. at first when it came out in full version,it showed a "web page cannot be displayed" error then it simply wouldn't load,and now i get this .exe thing. I hope somehow somebody can fix this.
