The card you entered cannot be used for this payment

I have used my credit card without an account in the past and never had an issue. Recently on two purchases I made, eBay checkout would say that I cannot use my credit card, which is extremely weird. Even when I tried my other credit card the same issue persisted. I don't have a PayPal account and I always bought by using my credit card having no issues whatsoever. I think eBay and PayPal should look into what's causing this non-sense. I'll have no option but take my business elsewhere.

You paid as a guest of Paypal, if the listings showed Paypal as the payment method required by each seller.  There's a limit to how much total and how many items you can buy as a guest before you have to open a Paypal account.  Over 90% of US sellers take Paypal only.

entropi has it correct. It's now time to open that Personal Paypal account and get things set up correctly.

Yes, you do have an option.  Open a Paypal account and your buying problems will disappear.

You need to realize that using Paypal is MUCH safer than giving your credit and debit card numbers to every online seller you want to buy from.
