Hi, I'm having some problem with the seller after the case closed.

I bought a camera, Fujifilm X10, from seller in Hong Kong. I found malfunctions of Zoom after 50-60 days I recieved the camer. I brought it into Fujifilm (the manufacturer) in Japan ask for repair. Fujifilm inspected and found defects and malfunctions of Zoom.

However, they (Fujifilm in Japan) returened my camera without any repairs and sent me a repair report saying;
"We found this product have a different Identification Plate from the original and cannot be certified as genuine and true. We are not allowed to repair unofficial products."

Then I contacted to the seller (also I contacted to eBay but no answers), they have been continuing to insist the product is genuine. The seller said they can repair my camera under their warranty so I sent it to them.

The seller says they don't find any mulfunctions and says;
"The lens has NO issue and if you do insist it has issue, they (Fujifilm Hong Kong) will require 205usd to change the whole lens set under your decision".

The seller is now saying they will show me the reciept from Fujifilm Hong Kong so send my personal email because they use external system and cannot log into eBay's message directly.

What I would like to ask here is;

1. Is there anything what I can do when the item I bought through eBay is not genuine (but the seller insists its not) after 60days from the purchase?

2. Is it really happen that a company can register the item with Fujifilm instead of the consumer who purchase the camera? (The seller insists that they already register the item so I cannot register on my own.)

3. Is it really happen that the seller sells the item on eBay but they cannot log into and use eBay's message? ( I send and respond messages by useing My eBay's Messages and get the seller's reply in it.)

4. Is it accurate step to tell them my personal email in this case?

Any suggestion is also welcomed.
Thanks in advance,

You had 45 days of ebay Buyer Protection. You have had the camera too long for ebay to do anything. Most likely, the seller is not going to do anything and I certainly would not give him any of my information or send him any money. You will probably have to write this up as a lesson learned.

He is past ebay Buyer Protection's 45 days and he doesn't have to do anything.

If you bought it with a credit card you probably could have asked for a charge back but it is probably too late to do that too.

Thank you, guys.

As auntella says, I'm learning a lesson.
the malfunction appeared gradually and I thought Fujifilm in Japan can repair it (Fujifilm in Japan said they can repair my camera for free if the camera is genuine).

How can I notice the camera I bought is a counterfeit before the repair! ...i know it was too late to claim that.

Is it appropriate here to state the sellers name?
I just want to share my experience with everybody and no one is going to get in trouble like me.

Thank you.
